My name is Kate. I'm young, healthy, female, American, reasonably intelligent, naturally sarcastic, unapologetically candid, and an English major.

I wear tortoise-shell-framed glasses, press too hard when I write, and lived in Rome once.

I love books, short stories, fashion magazines, cereal boxes, post-it notes - the written word, generally, in whatever form it presents itself. Music (Tchaikovsky to Clapton to Coldplay to Piaf) also. In addition, I adore very old movies, House and The X-files, shopping, coffee, screwing around, sleeping, being barefoot, my friends, red wine, Belgian beer, collecting matchbooks, chocolate, chewing gum, all that normal garb.

I hate conspicuous consumption and people who walk slowly on small city sidewalks.

If I had a genie in a bottle, one of my wishes would be for talent on a piano.

Evidently, I am incapable of charming or witty self-summary. But that's how it goes I suppose.
